I'm switching over from Waiting on Wednesday's to Can't Wait Wednesday, a meme hosted by Wishful Endings. The idea is basically the same, but it looks like the official hosts of Breaking the Spine have shut down the meme so it's time to move on.
Love speaks in flowers. Truth requires thorns.
Travel to a world of dark bargains struck by moonlight, of haunted towns and hungry woods, of talking beasts and gingerbread golems, where a young mermaid's voice can summon deadly storms and where a river might do a lovestruck boy's bidding but only for a terrible price.
Inspired by myth, fairy tale, and folklore, #1 New York Times–bestselling author Leigh Bardugo has crafted a deliciously atmospheric collection of short stories filled with betrayals, revenge, sacrifice, and love.
Perfect for new readers and dedicated fans, these tales will transport you to lands both familiar and strange—to a fully realized world of dangerous magic that millions have visited through the novels of the Grishaverse.
This collection of six stories includes three brand-new tales, all of them lavishly illustrated with art that changes with each turn of the page, culminating in six stunning full-spread illustrations as rich in detail as the stories themselves.
Why I'm Waiting
I haven't finished Crooked Kingdom yet, but I loved Six of Crows and the Grisha Trilogy. Basically, I love anything Leigh Bardugo touches! And this one is going to just look absolutely stunning on my shelf, on top of being an amazing read.
The Language of Thorns releases September 27th, 2017.
I haven't read any of Leigh's books yet, but a few are on my TBR list. Hopefully you will enjoy her latest!

She's such a good writer I really recommend her! I kept putting off the Grisha books and SOC but when I finally picked them up I fell completely in love with them.
DeleteThis sounds like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of original fairytales!
DeleteThis will be a future pick for me. I've been waiting for the cover to be released. Super, super excited about this one!!!
ReplyDeleteI was waiting for the cover to, lol. And it's such a stunning cover! I didn't know what to expect but I was not disappointed, that's for sure.

Oooo, this does sound lovely! I can't wait to read the reviews and learn more about it.
ReplyDeleteI have yet to read a book by Leigh Bardugo, but not because I don't want to! Maybe I will start with this one. It totally sounds right up my alley. Great pick! Thanks for stopping by my Wednesday post on Lisa Loves Literature earlier.
ReplyDeleteOh, I want this one, too!!!! YAAAAAAS!!! I read the first book of the Grisha trilogy, titled, "Shadow and Bone", and need the remaining two. But I already LOVE the way this author writes!! This book sounds AMAZING, and the cover is STUNNING! Thanks for featuring it!! :) :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for commenting on my CWW post!! Hope you're having a GREAT Saturday!! :) :) :)
My gosh, this book is mesmerising. I can't take my eyes off this cover!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Leigh's books (though I do want too!), but this cover is amazing. I love the unique "scroll" designs the designers opt for these days. It makes so many of these covers stand out. This one in particular does because of the turquoise against the starkness of the black.
ReplyDeleteEnough about the cover though. :D The book sounds really good too! Anything that has to do with fairy tales and I'm curious.
Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland's WOW last week.
