Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Authors I've Read the Most Books From

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the Broke and the Bookish.  Click here to join in on the fun.

This was a really fun one to do, because I was able to actually figure out who I've read the most from.  I was sorta surprised by what I discovered.

10. Brandon Sanderson (5.5)
I only nearly all of his books, but I've only finished five of them.  I am currently reading Way of Kings, so I'm counting it as 5 and a half books read.

9. Richelle Mead (7)
I've read the entirety of the Vampire Academy series and the first in the Bloodlines series.  I've actually reread the first two books three times each, and books three through five twice each.

8. JK Rowling (7)
I've read the Harry Potter series but still haven't moved on to her other books.

7. Rachel Caine (8)
I love her writing so much.  I've read the first eight books in the Morganville Vampires series (I really need to finish this lovely series).

6. Maggie Stiefvater (8)
I've read the Wolves of Mercy Falls Trilogy (still haven't gotten to Sinner, though), the Scorpio Races, Lament and Ballad, and the first two books in the Raven Cycle.  She's just a queen of writing.

5. Jim Butcher (8)
I love the Dresden Files and I'm eagerly waiting for Cinder Spires.  Still haven't begin his Codex Alera series since I've heard mixed reviews.

4. Michael J Sullivan (8)
One of my all time favorite authors.  The only thing I haven't read by him is his non-Riyria book, which I do own.  Just haven't been in the mood for it yet.  Fun fact- I own three copies of Theft of Swords.

3. Cassandra Clare (11)
I've read and loved The Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices.  I recently read the Shadowhunters Codex, but still haven't gotten to the Bane Chronicles.  I also haven't been reading Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy since I'm waiting for the nice bind up to come out.  I've also read the Iron Trial (which I almost forgot as I was writing this post).

2. Julie Kagawa (11)
Her Iron Fey series is one of my favorites.  I've also read her vampire series, and the first in her dragon series, though I'm not super crazy about the latter.

1. Rick Riordan (11.5)
I was rather surprised to see him at the top!  But I really shouldn't be.  I've read the Percy Jackson series and the Heroes of Olympus series in their entirety.  I've also read the first in the Kane Chronicles and am halfway through the second as I write this post.

So who's on your list this week?  Eager to see what other people are putting!

  1. Wow nice. I'm reading Shiver (well listening to it anyway) right now. And The Raven Cycle has been on my TBR forever. I only read the first Morganville Vampire book. I have a few others sitting on my shelf waiting. Nice list!

    1. Thanks for stopping by! Shiver is one of my absolute favorite books, and one of the first YA I actually read several years ago. I hope you enjoy it :)

  2. Awesome list!! J.K. Rowling and Richelle Mead both made my top ten list as well. I'm currently working my way through the Percy Jackson series, but I'm only on the third book. I've read The Raven Cycle series by Stiefvater and can't wait for the release of the final book. I also still need to catch up in the Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices series.

  3. Maggie Stiefvater is TOTALLY the queen of writing. The Raven Boys series is so damn good and her writing is unlike anything I've ever read before. Awesome list! :)

    1. She's such a diverse writer, too. Everything series or book she writes has a different, but great, feel to it.

      Thanks for stopping by!

  7. I always learn something new during those Top 10 posts, i thought that the Shiver trilogy or Mercy Fall trilogy by Stiefvater was just that: a trilogy. But now i know it is actually a series and has for books. Oh well one more book to read from that series once i get to that series -sometime.
We actually only share Rowling, since most of your authors i have either read nothing by or at the most two books. But i will look into them and see what i can start to read by them. If you have any recommendations or favorite books from those authors on your list, that you have not mentioned above, please let me know and i will look into those right away. Thanks :)
    Great list :)

    1. They're all pretty much my favorite authors, tbh, but Michael J Sullivan's Riyria Revelations is my favorite epic fantasy series. It's great because even if you're not a fan of the genre it eases you in and is a great story regardless. I adore Cassandra Clare's Infernal Devices trilogy, as well. They made me cry like no series has done before.

      Thanks for stopping by :)

    1. He's really a great writer! I recommend starting with the Mistborn trilogy, because that's probably his best work.

  9. Yay, Michael J. Sullivan! I love his Riyria books. I totally need to give Hollow World a go sometime. I just got started reading Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series (only read the first book) but have been really enjoying it so far. I still have to finish the Harry Potter series. I know, I know, I'm so far behind everyone else :) I'm wanting to get started reading some Maggie Stiefvater and have her The Scorpio Races just waiting for me. I've read The Infernal Devices and The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare, but I've yet to start The Mortal Instruments yet. Hopefully it'll be soon as I'm looking forward to reading City of Bones.

    1. Another Riyria fan, yay! It's such a great series and I wish it had more attention on the internet (I get so excited when I see other people enjoying it!). I really need to read Hollow World, too, it's been sitting on my kindle for a bit too long. The Mortal Instruments were some of the first YA I read and have been close to my heart ever since, though I think Infernal Devices are the better series. I'm planning to re-read both series very soon!

Thanks for stopping by and commenting :)
