I'm switching over from Waiting on Wednesday's to Can't Wait Wednesday, a meme hosted by Wishful Endings. The idea is basically the same, but it looks like the official hosts of Breaking the Spine have shut down the meme so it's time to move on. Description and cover image taken from Goodreads.
In the next installment of the New York Times bestselling Throne of Glass series, follow Chaol on his sweeping journey to a distant empire.
Chaol Westfall has always defined himself by his unwavering loyalty, his strength, and his position as the Captain of the Guard. But all of that has changed since the glass castle shattered, since his men were slaughtered, since the King of Adarlan spared him from a killing blow, but left his body broken.
His only shot at recovery lies with the legendary healers of the Torre Cesme in Antica—the stronghold of the southern continent's mighty empire. And with war looming over Dorian and Aelin back home, their survival might lie with Chaol and Nesryn convincing its rulers to ally with them.
But what they discover in Antica will change them both—and be more vital to saving Erilea than they could have imagined.
Why I'm Waiting
I'll be honest, I don't love the cover. I don't hate it but I was so underwhelmed with this reveal. I dislike that it doesn't really match with the rest of the series. Of course I'll buy it (truth is I'll probably buy multiple copies) and I'm hoping that the cover really does hide a bunch of secret goodies.
Tower of Dawn releases September 5th, 2017
Great pick! I've read great reviews for all of her books, but I still need to read them. I'm actually planning on reading Throne of Glass this summer, now that I have finished several of the series I have been working on. I hope you enjoy this one!

Finishing series is such a struggle for me so I applaud you! It's one of my favorite series and I hope when you get to it you enjoy it! Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteWhen I saw this cover I thought "never heard of it" and then I realized what book it is. I didn't expect this cover either, I thought it was going to match the rest of the serie (I was excited at the idea of having Chaol on the cover).
ReplyDeleteI was excited to see Chaol too! And even if they couldn't have included him why did they have to put this shield thing on the cover?? It makes the series look waaaay different and not like something that would have grabbed my attention. *sigh* oh well, I'll still love the book anyway, I'm sure.
DeleteHeya!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'm going to get to this one to be honest, the cover was a disappointment ^-^
I know the shouldn't do cover buys as bloggers, but this one looks like an ARC still.
BUT we get to know more about an important character! We'll see what September brings :)

The cover really is disappointing. I agree, it doesn't look finished! I love the series too much to not read it, but I'm definitely not as excited about this one as I was for the last ones.
DeleteI am looking forward to catching up with Chaol, and I love this series. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteHe's definitely going to be interesting to read from his POV for a whole novel. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI am always amazed at prolific she is! Great pick -- it's getting such love around the blogosphere
ReplyDeleteIt's really good! I forget how good they are when I'm not reading them but when I dive into them again I fall in love completely each time. Thanks for stopping by :)
Deletei haven't read anything by the author as I'm not huge on fantasy novels but I do plan to try the first one at some point. With all the books I have to read I'm not sure if I'll get to it this year! The cover is nice enough but not as good as the previous books in the series. Hope the book is good though! Thanks for visiting my CWW!
ReplyDeleteIf you do read it but aren't in a rush definitely wait until the whole series is released because some of these cliffhangers are absolute killer. Thank you!
DeleteI've just started reading this series and onto 'Empire of Storms'. I'm not sure I want a whole book about Chaol though!
ReplyDeleteI go on and off whether I like Chaol or not. Though mostly I'm excited for the other POVs in this book.
DeleteI haven't read this series yet - I hope you enjoy this next installment!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteYAAAAS!! Awesome choice! I'm not a big Maas fan, but I do love Chaol. Hope we both enjoy this when we read it :)
ReplyDeleteAmy @ A Magical World Of Words
I hope so too!
DeleteI haven't read any of her books yet. Sounds like a good series. Hope you enjoy it when you read it!
ReplyDeleteShe's definitely an author I recommend picking up, even if fantasy isn't your favorite genre (start with ACOTAR though). Thank you!
DeleteI LOVE this cover and even though I've not read this series yet, I wish all the covers matched this one!
ReplyDeleteI just wish all the covers matched lol. Although, as long as the spines match I think I'll be able to deal with it. Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteI haven't read this series, but the description sounds good. I must admit, I do love the cover though :)
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend this series. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI know so many people are excited for this, but I never could get into this series. I hope you love it when you read it though!!
ReplyDeleteTracy @ Cornerfolds
Thank you!
DeleteI totally agree with you on this cover! When I first saw it, I was like, "What the....?" Yeah! It really doesn't match the others in the series, that's for sure! The plot, though, does sound AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm not really a fan of this author, I would like to pick up the first book in this series to see how I like it. If I do, then I'll go on to the rest of them, so thanks for featuring this one!
Thanks as well for commenting on my CWW post!! <3 <3 :) :)
I strongly recommend this series and I hope if you do pick it up you like it. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI haven't read this series yet but plan to at some point since I've loved the ACOTAR series so much. I'm with you on the cover though. Wonder why it's different from the rest of the books in that series...
ReplyDeleteI think they're trying to distinguish it from the rest because it's not the core cast of characters, but it really was a let down of a cover. Thanks for stopping by :)
DeleteCOMPLETELY agree about the cover. I wanted Chaol on the front and Nesryn or Yrene on the back! That would've been epic! I'm still really excited though!
ReplyDeleteIt would have been so cool to see any and all of them! Yeah I'm still pretty excited too. Thanks for stopping by!
