January Pre-Orders

So, I have the habit to preorder books, more so lately, it seems, and I wanted a chance to spotlight the books I'm most excited for releasing this month.  I'm thinking this might even become a monthly post where I talk about the books I've preordered.  So, without further ado, here we go:

Truthwitch
by Susan Dennard
releases January 6th
I've actually never read anything by Susan Dennard, even though I've had a book of hers sitting on my shelf for quite some time.  I'm looking forward to this one, since it sounds awesome, and since I've heard some really amazing early reviews.

Sword and Verse
by Kathy MacMillan
releases January 19th
I'm excited for this one because it sounds really good.  And, I'll be buddy reading this one, so that's an extra exciting bit.

Noragami Vol. 10
releases January 26th
I think this goes without saying, but this is part of my favorite series, and this volume is going to break my heart, I know it.  So, yeah, I'll need to prepare for this one a bit before I get to it.

The Siren
by Kiera Cass
releases January 26th
I love the Selection series (even though I'm way behind) and can't wait for this one.  It's not just the author, though, that makes me excited.  I mean, have you seen this cover?  And the description?  Sounds like a dream and I'm dying as I wait.

Showdown on Smuggler's Moon
releases January 26th
I recently read volume one, and it was surprisingly amazing, so of course I had to preorder this one.  Hope it's as good as the first was (though how can it not be, right?).

Night Study
by Maria V Snyder
releases January 26th
I haven't read a single book in this series, but I own all of them on my kindle because I expect to read and love them.  I'm strange like that, and I actually used to do this a lot more two years ago.  I don't do this super-buying anymore except in the rare occasion, such as this.  I'm really looking forward to bingeing them all since it sounds right up my alley.

Horimiya Vol. 2
releases January 26th
The first volume was one of my favorite reads of last year and I'm bouncing up and down just thinking about this one.  It's one of the cutest stories I've ever read and thats exactly what I need in my life right now.

Dark Days Club
by Alison Goodman
releases January 26th
This reminded me of Infernal Devices and while I've never read Eon or Eona, my friend says they're very good.  So, I'm looking forward to this one.

What books have you preordered or are looking forward to this month?  Let me know in the comments!

Fall Wrap-Up

Haha, well, I might be a little late on this one, since fall has long since passed at this point.  I wanted to continue the tradition of seasonal wrap-ups, though, and talk about my favorite reads from the last few months.  So, without, further ado, here are my favorite reads since this summer:
This is probably the only manga that's managed to catch me within the first few pages.  Thanks to my friend, M, who recommended it to me (and a few seconds later I ordered it) and got me hooked.  Absolutely adorable romance about two high schoolers with secrets.  I really recommend you pick this up.  Plus, volume two comes out in only a few weeks (I'm so excited!).

This was my favorite installment so far.  It totally blew me away, and just
rocked my world completely.  I recommend reading my review if you want to see me get all nostalgic for it.

This one took me far to long to get to.  I loved it (though I didn't give it five stars) and am so glad that I finally picked it up.  Only holding off on buying the next book because of funds.

Mind blowing amazing conclusion to an already amazing series.  I don't think anything else will be able to top this ending for quite some time.

You may notice that this is a rather short list, and while I read a ton of books that I liked, I haven't read that many that I absolutely loved and blew me away.  Which is a shame, and something I hope changes by the next time I do a wrap up.

5 Star Manga Review: Horimiya (Vol. 1)

Author| Hero X Daisuke Hagiwara  Rating| 5 Stars
Edition| Paperback

This isn't normally the type of story I would pick up, but it's one of the best decisions I've made all year.
