Can't Wait Wednesday: 10th Anniversary Editions

I'm switching over from Waiting on Wednesday's to Can't Wait Wednesday, a meme hosted by Wishful Endings. The idea is basically the same, but it looks like the official hosts of Breaking the Spine have shut down the meme so it's time to move on. Description and cover image taken from Goodreads.

This week's CWW is a little different since I'm combining two books into one. Both are books I've already read but are getting Tenth Anniversary Editions this year (and of course I have to collect those because they're gorgeous).
This deluxe, illustrated edition celebrates the New York Times-bestselling series, The Kingkiller Chronicle, a masterful epic fantasy saga that has inspired readers worldwide.
This anniversary hardcover includes more than 50 pages of extra content!
• Beautiful, iconic cover by artist Sam Weber and designer Paul Buckley
• Gorgeous, never-before-seen illustrations by artist Dan Dos Santos
• Detailed and updated world map by artist Nate Taylor
• Brand-new author’s note
• Appendix detailing calendar system and currencies
• Pronunciation guide of names and places

  1. Oh wow this edition of the Name of the Wind is gorgeous !
I have mixed feelings about City of Bones though. I don't necessarily like it because it's too simplistic but I think it's the kind of cover that is beautiful when you look at the book and not just the cover (I don't if I make sense.)

    1. Isn't it stunning? I was blown away when I saw it and if I hadn't already loved the book to death I would have bought it anyways.

You totally make sense; sometimes covers don't do justice on their own. I don't think it's a good representation of the book itself but I think it's going to look stunning on my shelf.

  3. I can't believe Name of the Wind has been out 10 years! My husband loved it when he read it and told me I would too-- that can't have been ten years ago! But it was. And I still haven't read it. :-(

I have read City of Bones, a least. Although I haven't gone on in the series yet.

    Thank you for sharing, Sam!

    1. I adore how it looks. I had no idea what direction they were going to go with the 10th anniversary when they announced it, but I love it. IK Tempus fugit indeed! I feel like it only just came out.

  8. Oh wow. Usually I don't love the idea of repackaged covers because it means more for me to buy (the collector in me looooooves to have all of the editions of books that I love). But in the case of these books, the new covers are amazing! I hope you get these books when you have the chance!

Have a fabulous week, Sam. =)
