This week I'm spotlighting Richelle Mead's most recent YA novel, Soundless.  Here's the description taken from Goodreads:
For as long as Fei can remember, there has been no sound in her village, where rocky terrain and frequent avalanches prevent residents from self-sustaining. Fei and her people are at the mercy of a zipline that carries food up the treacherous cliffs from Beiguo, a mysterious faraway kingdom.

When villagers begin to lose their sight, deliveries from the zipline shrink and many go hungry. Fei’s home, the people she loves, and her entire existence is plunged into crisis, under threat of darkness and starvation.
But soon Fei is awoken in the night by a searing noise, and sound becomes her weapon.
Richelle Mead takes readers on a triumphant journey from the peak of Fei’s jagged mountain village to the valley of Beiugo, where a startling truth and an unlikely romance will change her life forever...
From page 56 of Soundless:
Li Wei is very still now, regarding me with new interest. What did you do?
While you're here I implore you to check out my current giveaways!  I'm giving away two signed Black Widow art prints and any book from Book Depository that $20 or under.  Best of luck!

  1. What a great idea for a story! I can't imagine a world without sound or how people would cope with constant silence.

    1. It was a really cool book to read since the speech was all sign language! Thanks for stopping by :)

  2. This is a beautiful cover! The synopsis makes me feel sorry for the village. I'm not sure I'd like this book. I can't decide.
