Welcome to the newest feature of this blog! I plan on doing Book News posts whenever something important and bookish happens for a series I care about. They'll be posted sporadically, since I won't know when the information will be coming out. You can always see old posts and information to catch up on under the Reviews & Book News tab.
Yesterday Deadline broke the news that ACOTAR has been optioned for a movie. You can go: here if you want to read the original report.
If this is the first you have heard of this, please, take a moment to celebrate.
That's right, this beauty has just been optioned for a movie. It's gonna be awesome.
Don't get your hopes too high, though. Being optioned isn't the same as being made. It just means the film rights are now owned by someone who isn't the author, in this case Tempo Productions. It can be made a movie, and this actually means that someone may be working towards making it so.
What has Tempo Productions done in the past?
Perusing through their website I didn't see anything I recognized. But that's okay! I'm not too worried about the state of things and you shouldn't be either. Because for every Vampire Academy there's a Hunger Games and we should all be excited that this book may some day show up on the silver screen.
I would like to say that I would rather see ToG optioned for TV. But that's just me. Maybe some day...
ReplyDeleteToG actually has been optioned for TV (http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/childrens/childrens-book-news/article/68054-moving-on-up-throne-of-glass.html#path/pw/by-topic/childrens/childrens-book-news/article/68054-moving-on-up-throne-of-glass.html) and I've always imagined it as a TV show. I don't know how I feel about ACOTAR as a movie, since I think it would be hard to pull off, but anything can surprise me.
